Zwiesel Kristallglas AG buys the rights to "Jenaer Glas"
Zwiesel Kristallglas AG has purchased the trademark name and rights to the "Jenaer Glas" bland from Schott Jenaer Glas GmbH. The Agreement takes effect from January 1st, 2006. Zwiesel Kristallglas intends to reposition "Jenaer Glas", by creating a new, dynamic range for launch in 2007, which will compliment the existing Schott Zwiesel brand.
The "Jenaer Glas" brand has epitomised ovenproof dishes and tea-services since 1918 and is still the leading trademark for heat resistant glass to this day. In the last century the brand achieved an iconic status akin to that of Dresden China.
"Jenaer Glas" will be presented by Zwiesel Kristallglas AG as a third brand beside "Schott Zwiesel" and "Zwiesel 1872" in the autumn of 2006. The brand’s Bauhaus tradition will remain a driving principle behind the development of the new collection, while modern innovations in food and drinking preparation plus design tastes will be accommodated.
